I don't know, I sort of like the idea that the goa'uld is kind of like Methos' son-in-law. And goa'uld both likes his father-in-law and has a healthy respect for him (or fear of him). It was an arranged marriage that benefited both spouses. And while there were a few issues early on in the partnership, they've gotten their time-sharing issues resolved within the first few centuries, with the occasional renegotiation every few decades.

And everyone who knows either Goa'uld OR Tok'ra are confused by the relationship.
