Or maybe try to convince Daniel to teach him Ancient. I can just imagine Methos realizing that there's a language that he doesn't speak and thus must immediately learn. So he tries to convince Daniel that he does speak it (or at least a dialect of it), so that Daniel will use it to speak to him and thus Methos can learn it.
