I haven't read that story. I tried looking it up, but it seems that it's part of a collection of essays and short stories.
I'm trying to figure out how the exceptions work into this explanation of Immortal origins though. As much as I love it, little things have been bugging me about it so I'm attempting to sort it out. I'm guessing that the Immortal that Darius killed for a "Light" Quickening wasn't going around killing other Immortals. So maybe the Asguard considered him a success but couldn't duplicate it? Or maybe they thought he was too pacifistic to survive? Also, I don't know much about Rebecca, but she stayed on holy ground most of the time, didn't she? Or maybe the Asguard were trying to get an Immortal that couldn't absorb Quickenings and that would have been considered enough of a success to fix the aliens in stasis pods?
