You're probably right, they wouldn't be all that weirded out, especially since there was that one proto-serial killer Nathan who actively struggled to avoid killing. But it would certainly be of interest. Maybe particularly because of Nathan, if this guy (Methos) was successfully breaking an addiction, then maybe others could, too.
