And the reporter who is now the in-law somehow managed to get a copy of the betting book the Illuminati keep (or rather, a page out of it, since it takes up several volumes), and nearly has a heart-attack as he's reading about the conditions of one silly bet after another. One of them is about the head of the NID's heart condition. The report feels a certain amount of sympathy for him there.
