The SGC, NID, and just about everyone else are investigating every actor who plays Methos, as they consider him devious enough to act as himself so that he can respond to all accusations with him simply being an actor who played the role. However, Methos doesn't really like the idea of his appearance being captured for all time (or at least as long as the film media survives) and stays far away.
