Narnia fic: Pausing to Smell the Roses
Oct. 22nd, 2010 01:20 amDespite have no time, I have been sucked into the Narnia fandom. Largely by
rthstewart who has a series of really amazing epic Narnia fic. Go read them.
Anyway, having been sucked in, I browsed a few other stories in the fandom and realized that a lot of them apologize for Susan. They explain that she has a right to be bitter and to turn away from Narnia and her siblings, but eventually her anger will fade and she’ll re-find her faith, etc. It made me think, this is a Queen of Narnia? The Gentle Queen? No. There is another reason for her to turn aside, to pause in this world, even knowing that the next one awaits.
Despite having no time--seriously, that really does bear repeating, no time--this particular story snippet suckered me in, ambushed me, and cost me my evening. Hmph. It barely even qualifies as a story, really, but I'm going to call it finished, post it, and warn any other plot-bunnies to stay back.
