Plot-bunny: Predators / Highlander

So the movie Predators hadn't really come on my radar before
pentapus wrote that really the whole thing could be watched as a fanfic of Methos. And wow, it really, really can. I just went out to see it today and it is awesome. A very, very simplistic plot, but the main guy could definitely be Methos, both in appearance and in character.
Since this is a new movie, the rest of my idea for the fanfic is a huge spoiler.
My idea is that after the Adam Pierson character got to be too old, Methos decided to be a mercenary for a little bit. In part this was to re-hone his fighting skills, in part it was to make a real break from his previous identity, and in part it was a way to mourn his lost brothers, who he had recently arranged to die. Sure, they were psychopathic killers who wanted him to help them destroy humanity, but they were still his brothers. And they would definitely have supported the mercenary life-style.
If there is an afterlife for Immortals to look down upon the living from, it would also be just like them to arrange for him to be kidnapped by aliens and taken to a game preserve to be hunted. He blames Kronos for this, although Caspian would also have gotten a kick out of the trophies the aliens were taking. Caspian would probably want to be reincarnated as one of the aliens.
Anyway, the whole movie can be watched that way.
Methos (aka Royce) is very closed-mouthed about his own skills and past, and pretty much allows the other characters to come to their own conclusions about who and what he is (aside from very dangerous and very competent.) He doesn’t even tell anyone his name (Royce) until the very end of the movie. I think this is because it wasn’t his name and Methos was coming up with a new identify for this new life of chasing down and killing aliens.
However, in the end, the three alien Predators have been killed, but the space ship that could have taken them off the planet was also destroyed, and new game has been brought in to the game preserve planet, and we have been informed that three new predators will be coming, having evolved new hunting tactics having seen what was done previously.
End of the movie.
Start of the fanfiction story that I really want to read:
These new predators, however, don’t realize that Methos is watching them as well and is also learning and evolving. It might take a couple of seasons of hunters but Methos will learn to use their space-ships, probably learn to use their language, as well, and will eventually take off in a space ship and take the fight to their planet.
Meanwhile, there are people on Earth who know that something is up (there was a surviving witness from the 1987 movie who told the government such that the government worker in this movie recognized the Predators) and at least one of the characters would have been noticed to have disappeared (a guy on death-row, two days away from execution… is not going to disappear without people realizing.)
Duncan MacLeod realizes that something is up. It probably takes a century or two before Earth technology is up to identifying the Predators and trying to prevent them from taking random humans to their game preserve. But that technology does come eventually and MacLeod is in the forefront to protect humanity. He is pleased to realize, however, that there is already some resistance group that is fighting the Predators from space. The head of the resistance is named Royce.
MacLeod hasn’t been able to contact Methos for years, now. Not since he disappeared after Joe died, and killed off his own Adam Pierson personality. He’d really hoped that Methos would contact him again when it became public knowledge that there was an extra-terrestrial threat. Surely Methos would realize that he needed to fight this threat, rather than continue trying to hide amongst the masses. MacLeod is actually kind of pissed about that, although also kind of fearful that Methos’ absence as to do with him losing a Challenge sometime and somewhere unknown.
His attempts to contact Royce, on the other hand, have been met with mixed success. He’s never met the guy in person but there has been communication.
Royce has also been involved in fomenting the civil war taking place in Predator society between the upper and lower castes.
(Incidentally, this plot-bunny somewhat is reminiscent of the old sci-fi story Danger--Human by Gordon R. Dickson.)
