Hee. Can you just imagine the conversation with Duncan?
"Do, do you want to talk about your experience with the Horsemen? If you need to talk, you know I'll always listen, don't you, Cassandra?" Duncan knew he had to offer even though he really didn't want to hear about all the horror his friend had committed so many years ago, the killing, the rape, the stealing, etc. But if Cassandra needed it, he would be there for her.
"It was horrible. Do you know they didn't even go raiding all that often! Like, only once or maybe twice a year! Everyone worked, everyone! But they just moved camp from one natural orchard to another, across the continent, set a few traps, and did a bit of pleasure hunting. All humans lived from year to year if not from day to day, and they just, they lay around, and did what they wanted, including talking heresies! They barely raided when it wasn't necessary!"
Duncan blinked. "Um." That wasn't what he had been expecting. "Heresies?", he finally decided to ask, as the only response he could come up with.
"One time when Methos insisted that I not do my proper chores, he wanted me to tell him how to force plants to grow where he wanted them rather than where the spirits wanted them!"
"Uh, you mean farming?"
"I mean going against the will of the spirits!"
Duncan was beginning to believe Methos when he had said that the world was different back then.
