I think carbon dating only works on dead things, although I'm not entirely sure. However, they'd probably try to quiz him about the constellations of his youth and he'd tell some long winded story about being lost because he got mixed up with how they changed and he hadn't noticed. And it would tell his listeners absolutely nothing.
