Idea #1 I can definitely see Methos and Alberich bonding. In my vision, they're sitting back and watching all of the trainees training, commenting to each other and occasionally to a trainee about any mistakes they see. But everyone is a bit unsure of who exactly Methos is because he only spars with Alberich (but those are amazing bouts to watch) and he doesn't want to even be in the same room as anyone wearing all white.
I had forgotten about Alberich's box of stuff, but that might be a good way for them to have met. Maybe Alberich went looking for someone who could identify old and unusual implements of war. Methos would definitely be able to.
Idea #2 Just the idea makes me laugh. I hope you do write this up. It can be just a short one-page scene. It would be awesome! Methos gets the language but no migraine. And the poor dyheli who did it is completely knocked out and wakes up with a major migraine and knowledge of like 50 extra languages that no one other than Methos speaks anyway. Heh. And that becomes the backstory of the very peculiar (and possibly crazy) dyheli language scholar. Please, please write it?
