Ficlets: Highlander and Highlander/His Dark Materials

Clearly this is a reminder that the internet is a dangerous thing and I should really learn better than to respond to being overwhelmed with work by blow it all off and doing something else. Sadly, I haven't retrained that response yet. Instead, I have two new ficlets for Bite Sized Bits of Fic since today was dinosaur themed!

Highlander, Methos, his daemon is a deinonychus; around the birth of Christianity, though, (s)he realized that (s)he could change shapes again, which comes in very handy whenever Methos changes persona.

Good Ol'Cory, him and Silas are the only ones who can understand the compulsion to to ride dinossaurs, one due to liking animals, the other just because of the sheer Craziness and Awesomeness of it..

One of the many (many, many) reasons that Methos misses Silas is he thinks that Silas probably could have managed to ride one of them.

It's possible that, if there are dinosaurs rampaging around, Cory had something to do with it.

Although maybe it's just a crossover with Primeval.

And now I really want a crossover with Primeval where the group from the ARC is trying to herd the dinosaur(s) back to the anomaly, Cory and Methos are trying to ride the dinosaurs and are egging each other on, MacLeod is trying to herd the crazy crazy immortals into safety and away from the giant carnivorous lizards, and Joe isn't quite sure how he's going to write this up but he sure hopes that he survives long enough to make the attempt.

you should at least give us a snippett... I can see Cory trying to slde down a Barosaurus' neck screaming Yaba daba dooooooooooooo

I haven't seen Primeval so I can't really be sure of what happens...

but everyone would realize that the biggest problems aren't the dinossaurs but the two nuts who keep pissing them off trying to play with them.... and they just won't die!

Primeval is pretty awesome schlock of the best kind: "anomalies" open up around London looking like floating balls made out of shards of sunlight, these are actually portals to various times in the distant past through which creatures come! Our few heroes must try to track where the anomalies open up, return any creature that managed to get through, prevent any people from getting through, and generally protect the timeline from changes caused by distant past manipulation. The science makes me cringe but the plots are awesome in their over-the-top-ness.

But when I'm feeling particularly malicious and want my Methos to be particularly kick-ass, I want to send him back through one of the anomalies and then have to live forward again through millions of years, this time. Hee.

And who knows what the present looks like once he's done re-making the past...

except this time he managed to saddle those little buggers and ride them!

as well as inventing language a few thousand times and being supremely bored during the ice age...

This time he definitely managed to ride them. And this time some of the dinosaurs managed to survive into the modern age under his care.

And his ice sculptures were like ice palaces.
