And then it's discovered that maybe Hotchner is the great grandkid of another immortal who's evil, or at least wants desperately to kill Methos or Corey or Matt or someone we generally like. And maybe one reason he's so good at getting into the minds of serial killers is his experience with great granddad as a kid. But now there's this whole starcrossed lovers aspect of the Hotchner/Haley marriage. Except when someone points this out, Methos rolls his eyes and says, "When you're mortal enemies of every single other person like you (as immortals are due to the Game), you don't enforce those conflicts on your children. It's fine."
