Transformers slash in canon

I watched the Transformers movie for the first time recently. For some background, there are giant sentient robots who can hide themselves as cars. The three main characters are (1) a teenage boy, (2) the boy's girlfriend, and (3) the boy's first car which is actually a sentient robot.
The movie was fun enough, however the final scene is the one that truly struck me. (And possibly defined my place in fandom.) In the end, the boy is laying back on the hood of his car (who he knows to be sentient), making out with his girlfriend who is lying on top of him.
Am I the only one who took one look at this and thought: threesome? A cross-species threesome in a mainstream movie?
